About Me

I’m an interdisciplinary scholar, artist, and educator with a specialization in Philosophy and Religion. I hold a B.A. in Religious Studies from Appalachian State University and a Master’s degree from Boston University, where I also earned my Ph.D. in theology, philosophy, and ethics. I am a former summer fellow at the Boston University Pardee Center for the Longer-Range Future and am currently engaged as a part-time philosophy instructor at Boston College and a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Mind and Culture.

My research is driven by a commitment to developing an interdisciplinary framework that addresses moral agency in today’s complex world. My goal is to identify and overcome contemporary challenges that can suppress awareness, freedom, and opportunity. I work at the forefront of diverse academic disciplines with the intent of forging new ways of understanding and  responding to biologically and socially conditioned impediments to character development.

In my creative endeavors, I aim to leverage the insights I’ve grasped over the course of my academic training to create a multimedia experience where existential musings become tangible and relatable, inviting others to ponder and connect with ancient, transcultural philosophical questions in a more intimate and personal way.
